Lordswood boss Jason Lillis is already looking ahead to next season.
He is due to meet the club’s committee after tomorrow’s (Saturday) Kent Hurlimann League Premier Division home game against Sevenoaks Town to discuss future plans.
Lillis said: “I will be sitting down and talking about things and what direction we are going to take. We have got a lot of youngsters who we hope will develop more over the summer, helped by one or two other signings.”
Lillis maintains his team is playing better than results suggest but says poor refereeing decisions and conceding four penalties in two games hasn’t helped their cause.
He said: “One was a maybe, one was iffy, but the others were definitely not. Our secretary (Steve Lewis) has officially complained in writing about the performance of the referee at Herne Bay last week and I don’t think we have ever done that before.”
Lordswood won 1-0 at Sevenoaks earlier in the season but Town’s surprise 3-2 Kent Senior Trophy win at Tunbridge Wells last weekend caught Lillis’ eye. He said: “That was a great result because Wells have been flying lately and it means they are coming to us with a bit of confidence. Saying that, we are playing well, even though the results haven’t been going well. Our performances have deserved more but we do lack consistency. We won 3-2 at Erith & Belvedere and were looking to get a bit of momentum from that but it didn’t happen.”
