Lordswood conceded a late goal at Sittingbourne tonight to finish on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline. Dome Elmes had given the Lords the lead in the first half with a well taken lobbed finish and could well have had a hat-trick had he shown a little more composure in front of goal. Sittingbourne struck back in the last 10 minutes of the half to find an equaliser. The second half saw the customary flurry of changes for pre-season games and apart from a 10 minute spell in the second half, Lordswood looked like they were due a well deserved draw. However with less than 5 minutes remaining some slack marking saw a Sittingbourne player in acres of space in the box allowing him time to pick his spot which he did to make it 2-1.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
