LORDS HIT SIX OF THE BEST - Medway Messenger - Mon 5th April 2010
Richard Dimmock rewrote the Lordswood record books by becoming the first player to score 4 goals in one game as they posted their best Kent League away win for nine years at Park View Road on Saturday.
The much travelled striker completed a rapid hat-trick against one of his many former clubs, with a spectacular effort straight from the restart, before getting his fourth 14 minutes from time.
Wes Hammond and Nicky Berkhauer also scored their first goals for Lordswood, who gained their biggest win on the road since winning 7-0 at Canterbury in March 2001.
Delighted boss Jason Lillis said: "It had to happen to somebody because of all the chances we have been creating and missing. Everything seemed to go right on the day, and it could have been more. We played some excellent stuff, and enjoyed ourselves on a good pitch."
Hammond put Lordswood in front after only five minutes, heading in LUke Wallond's cross, but the Deres were level six minutes later when Tommy Martin nodded in from six yards. Berkhauer restored the visitors' advantage after 22 minutes, stretching to convert Adam Hooper's cross-shot.
Dimmock made it 3-1 with his first two minutes later, beating defender Casey Scotter, before rounding keeper Sam Biggs. Dimmock then converted a 35th minute penalty to put Lordswood 4-1 up at the break. He got his third with a shot from almost the halfway line, after Dominic Elmes touched the ball to him from the kick off for the second half.
Lordswood eased further ahead after 76 minutes when Hooper's header reached Hayes, and his pass inside saw Dimmock fire home from 18 yards.
Former Chatham striker Lee Barnett saw his effort pushed around the post by White, but the game was long over by then.
Lordswood host improving Norton Sports today (Monday) and travel to Corinthian on Thursday, with Lillis targeting being off the bottom of the table by the end of the week.
